Deadly Tornadoes Hit US Midwest States


Thousands of people living in the US Midwest have woken to scenes of devastation after dozens of tornadoes swept across the region.

At least six people are reported to have died in the state of Illinois with Indiana, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Ohio also affected by the fast-moving storms.

Whole neighbourhoods have been destroyed and vehicles overturned with winds of up to 111km/h (68mph) recorded. More images of the storm's aftermath after the cut....
